Riding on the Columbine trail in Colorado Springs, CO. A few hikers (whom I’m sure are otherwise very nice people) had an aggressive pup off leash and it made a run at me.

This situation really put me on edge. I love pups as much as anyone, but I’m not a very big fan of irresponsible pet owners. Please keep your dogs on leash when you are sharing the outdoors with others. You may think that your dog is calm, but you never know…

  1. As a person who is always hiking in Colorado I absolutely detest people who let their dogs run loose. I've been aggressively charged a couple of times and the dog owner always gives that weak, "sorry". Entited dog owners who think it's okay to bring their dog into the grocery store also piss me off 😠

  2. When you go in the woods of course unleashed dogs.. they are still animals n must be trained.. Us as humans must adapt. It's the woods and them dogs are definitely trained somewhat but they dogs! Human entitlement

  3. Why do dog owners do this clown stuff? Ran into some lady at soccer fields other day, dog was off leash. She claimed he was elderly and had a soleen tumor and this was one of his last walks. Kick rocks lady, leash him up. Everyone has some mickey mouse excuse. Oh he wont bite, oh he is old, oh he is dying.

  4. People should have a limit of number of dogs cats any animal should be look how many dogs here there's noway they would of been able to stop the if these were wild wolves.

  5. i really. hate situations like this. bc i’m not interested in hearing how well behaved your dog is; im a 6’2 capable male who’s not afraid to kill a dog without hesitation. so you’re putting me and that dog at serious risk. no one knows you or this strange dog and in my mind it’s a life or death situation i didn’t ask to be involved in. it’s common sense, this isn’t private property. leash your animal

  6. Once I was sitting under a trree by a stream at a public park, literally just enjoying the shade and watching birds fly by. Down in the stream a family had taken there shoes off and walking in the ankle deep water with a little dog on a leash. Lo and behold some big monster of a dog comes bounding around the bend and goes for the little dog. The mam walking it picked it up and immediately became the big dogs next target. No shoes, in shorts, not good. I ran down into the water soaking my boots and grabbed the dog by the scruff and hauled it off him. About that time the owners of the big dog came around the bend and I pulled the dog over to them, handed it off. The guy who was bit ask if it was my dog and I told him "no I'm just a bystander". The two groups immediately started arguing and I just sloshed back to the bank and went back to my tree. Ruined my whole lazy afternoon but I'm glad no one was seriously hurt.
