This was my second tour by Brompton, after cycling from Copenhagen to Berlin last year (much flatter than this trip!). I found the bike really comfortable for long days in the saddle, and the fold makes it much easier to travel/fly with. (It also came in very useful when I found myself on top of a hill in a lightning storm, and hitchhiked to safety – the bike just went in the kind stranger’s car boot!).
Modifications for touring:
* Wider and lower handlebars (I have long arms)
* Ergon grips
* SQLabs innerbarends
* Hollowtech cranks / bottom bracket with SPD pedals
* 40t crankset (with 12 speed system) = nice wide range of of gears
* The obligatory Brooks B17 saddle
