Cycling is like everything else. You can spend as much or as little as you want. I will say though, over the years I’ve ridden inexpensive bikes and really expensive bikes I had no business ridding. Cheap or expensive the smile on my face was exactly the same.

In all fairness, I build myself a new ride every season out of junk parts and love doing it. But I love the tinkering aspect just as much as riding the creation afterwards.
I can’t be alone in that thought, else places like r/xbiking wouldn’t be so popular
