  1. You can ride anything you want to. You can ride decade old tape, you can ride improperly wrapped tape, you can ride no tape.

That said this tape looks stellar. Be proud of this work.

Also, pro tip for next time, the edge looks cleaner if you wrap the finishing tape on just the end of the bar tape and don’t overlap it onto the bar itself.

  2. I cannot imagine how anyone could wrap their bars so badly that the bike would be unrideable.

    good job!!! looks neat

anyway, everyone one reddit has a different take on the« one and only way to apply bar tape properly ». you’ll always find a negative comment no matter how it’s been done (most of the time it’ll be from someone who needs to chill and go on a ride).

looking great! If my next wrap will be like this, i’m more than happy with it.

Very respectable and definitely rideable. Much better than my efforts 😕 damn it.

  6. Looks fantastic, now come over to my place and wrap mine….I have Oreos and milk!

    (sorry but I’m a bit st9ned)

Hard to really see black on black in the photos but looks good! Well done for the first time.

  8. You wrapped the tops backwards. I would not ride with them like that. But it’s.. up to you. It’s just foam.

It looks neat! Personally I would have wrapped them the other way around but i have a hard time seeing it unwrapping

Looks stellar! What I like to do to make sure it doesnt come undone: grip it firmly and twist it like you would during harder efforts

If you really want feedback, I think there could be more overlap, especially on the drops. It looks like it’s barely covering. But I guess I like my bar tape thick and squishy, I usually do 1/2 width overlap, or even more on my mostly off road gravel bike.

Looks pretty good for a first time, much better than my first attempt!

I’ve had ‘professional’ jobs done that are far worse than this. Nice job

  13. Let it rip. I recently bought thicker bar tape and I couldn’t get it in the bar ends very well. I got some in and trimmed around what I couldn’t. Looks like crap but I’m going to run it.

  14. Looks good, buuut you’ve bought aero bars and then wrapped over the aero “wing” of the bars, negating any aero benefit.

Looks like an excellent job, my only advice would be that it looks like the tops are wrapped in the same direction away from the rider, when you ride on the tops your hands naturally fall towards you and pull on it in the opposite direction, so you may choose to reverse the wrap direction when you reach the hoods

  16. This is “sorry English is my second language” after typing an immaculate paragraph type shit.
