A neighbour has asked me if I can help restore this old Brompton (she says it is number 37, although I didn't check this). It's beyond what I want to do with my time. My initial suggestion is that she sells it as is and puts the proceeds towards a more modern one. Any better suggestions?

That’s an original original Brompton probably worth about equivalent to a T line if not a little more pending the condition. If she wants to sell it I suspect kingfrank will reach out to you on the subreddit.
It would be interesting to see it back and running, you could do each job as a YouTube and see if you get any income that way?
Do you have a picture of the frame number?
Number 37 of the original 50? Yeah… that could be a valuable item. Maybe approach the factory for advice on restoration? Certainly it is a Brompton worth preserving. Good luck to the owner.
