I wouldn't get a Specialized or Tr*k even if the government paid for half of it. Go for a Canyon, Giant, or Merida with better specs for the same price and be happy.
I take the full 3k every year and either buy a bike or parts even when I dont need it . Its helps lower my tax Band 😅 I asked HR if I can have a 10k voucher but unfortunately they said no 🤣
There are far better schemes out there. In Belgium, employees cycling to work receive a tax-free allowance of €0.37 per kilometer as of 2026, payable by the employers. Additionally, employees can lease bikes in exchange for a small cut in net pay, saving 25-39% on costs, which often includes maintenance and insurance. Workers using speed pedelecs to commute to work have been clocking up miles like crazy, cycling on the many highway cycle paths at speeds of up to 30mph. These bikes which were bought with tax breaks are then sold on the used market at the end of the lease period, often with more than 15K miles on the clock.

Can be longer than 12 months too. I’m paying off my roadie over 24.
We have the same thing in Ireland with a cap of €1250 for most bikes and €1500 for e bikes. You can repeat it every 4 years and it's a game changer
So jealous. I can't imagine the govt in the US doing this.

India should do this 😅
Copied from the Netherlands btw
People with hair like this is what gives cycling a bad rap. No offense lol
Some are 36 months. Giving access to some upper end spec. I gave up alcohol and got a gravel bike on one of these, life changing!
Same in Germany 🇩🇪 Just ordered my Canyon Aeroad for 30% off
