If you’re in Ireland and looking for a scenic cycling route, the Limerick Greenway is one of the best places to ride.

This 40km off-road trail follows a historic railway line through County Limerick, connecting towns like Rathkeale, Newcastle West, and Abbeyfeale. Along the way, you’ll pass old railway stations, tunnels, bridges, and even sites connected to Irish history—including stories from the Civil War and the Barnagh robbery.

In this video, I start in Newcastle West and ride through one of the most unique cycling routes in Ireland. The Greenway is smooth, mostly flat, and completely traffic-free—making it perfect for both casual riders and road cyclists looking to maintain speed.

You’ll also see stops like the Barnagh Greenway Hub, which has a café, bike rental, and repair shop right along the route—something that really shows how these Greenways are bringing new life to rural areas.

This video is part of my 30-day challenge to post every day, and tomorrow I’ll be heading to the Ring of Kerry.

If you’re into cycling, travel, or just exploring Ireland, this is a route worth checking out.
