I want something that i can grow with. That i can use for fitness,speed, and coasting at times. This may be obvious but i want to be able to throw gravel tires on at some point and customize.

New trek domane $1200.

Used Specialized Allez comp $725 (first 4 pics)

Lightly used- mostly indoors on trainer or for organized rides. 56cm with Shimano 105s- side shifters etc

Used Specialized allez $750

21 inch aluminum frame, 700x25c tires, 16 gears, full shimano guts from quick shifting brakes to derailer, shimano clip in pedals, handle bar extender.

    If you go new (store bought.) You get the benefit of a lifetime warranty on frame and limited on components, if something goes bad. You’ll need to register and keep your receipt of course. Wont get that piece of mind with a used bike. That being said, there are better deals to be had with used.

    What I’m saying is go with used if you want a better deal. It’s a plus if you know about bicycles and how to fix them. Go new if you want less hassle and are ok spending some $ on a bike. Personally I like the Trek carbon frames over Specialized, but I’ve owned both.
