Went on vacation to Korea and randomly walked into a Trek bike shop… bad idea 😂

This Trek Madone immediately caught my eye, so I asked for the price. It was on sale for about $2,200 (3,290,000 KRW) plus 300,000 KRW in store credit. Ended up using that on a new pair of Velocis shoes.

At that point I’m thinking—okay, this is basically a $4,400 setup (bike + shoes + tax) back home… this is a steal. But then reality hits: how am I supposed to get this thing back to the U.S.?

I asked the shop if they could box it up and what the dimensions would be so I could check with the airline. Turns out—it was doable. So… I sent it. Bought the bike, had them pack it up, and decided I’d figure the rest out later.

Had to rent a huge van just to get the box from the shop to the hotel, then from the hotel to the airport. Definitely got some looks along the way 😅

Customs in the U.S. pulled me aside, but after showing the receipt, they let me through without charging anything.

And that’s how I accidentally came home from vacation with a Madone. No regrets.
