Owner is firm on price, classifies bike as in ‘Excellent – Lightly Ridden’ condition and states the following:

“All parts were brand new as they came together for this bike. Bike has been ridden sparingly and shows as immaculate. Drivetrain has only seen waxed chains, and three freshly waxed chains will be included. Never wrecked, never dropped a chain. All known blemishes shown in photos where I am pointing at them!”

I’m very interested to hear everyone’s thoughts and opinions on this as I have mulling over this bike the past week and have been unable to get it off my mind. I need everyone’s help! Talk me into it or out of it!

Likes:

It’s a beautiful bike! Wonderful components, fits me and seems to have been treated well by the owner. I love the custom paint work on the titanium frame and damage seems to be only cosmetic and minimal.

Dislikes:

High and firm price

Older components (although top of line and in decent condition)

Exposed cables (a stupid hesitation I can get over)

Quick bio:

I’m looking for a bike for more casual riding. I gave away my old Cannondale Synapse 1 AL to a good friend who just picked up the sport. I now only have a dorky aero set up with a Factor Ostro Vam v2 that I train and race on.

If you want one of the nicest rim brake bikes money can buy than this is a great purchase.

I agree with u/Electronic_Ad6487, this is a sweet sweet ride. If it fits, I say you splurge.

That said, I see a few minor things that may need attention or replacement in the near future – like chainring wear, some tiny paint chips, brake cable mess, stuff like that. Easy / cheap fixes.

    Get the bike!

    I have a 2017 Vamoots. It’s fucking awesome, I love it.

Looking at comps on eBay, the price isn’t too far off at all.

Big question for you, is does this thing fit? I have like 25mm of spacers on my Vamoots. It’s a pretty low bike. This thing here, is slammed. Can you accommodate a front end that low? Also, another thing to consider, is that you are completely locked into that cockpit. Changing that will be very expensive.

Price is fine, honestly. Yeah, it’s rim brake, but these have held value. It’s a premium price for a premium bike. That said, spending this much money on a rim brake bike, I’d want to be *certain* it fits perfect. Personally, I could not accommodate this fit. I’d need to pass on the bike because it would simply be too low for me.

I guess if I *really* wanted it, I could buy a new fork… but that is going to be expensive too.

So, I think that is your main consideration here. If you can get a good fit on this, I say fucking go for it. You’ll love that bike.

Edit: Regarding ‘older components’, bro, it’s the best mechanical group that will ever be made other than *maybe* Campagnolo Super Record 12, and that is up for debate. This is the best of the best outside of Di2. For the cables… I mean… do you want a rim brake Vamoots or not?

Moots is top quality and if it fits it’s not a bad price for comps online. If you want a TI bike for less money, look into Lynskey or Litespeed instead. I tried them all and ultimately went with Litespeed as it fitment was better. But, both are fantastic and about 1-2k less on used side and you’ll likely not see a huge difference in ride quality.
