  1. You are such a good talker – you should organize tours thru the country past several of these stations ! You would be famous and rich – or write a book about these stations ! Lots of potential !

  2. I've been there and it's lovely. Walked to Great Yarmouth and back, which took about four hours. I think there's a station in Scotland that's even more remote.

Also, I don't like the news article stating that it was the least used station. While that was technically correct for that operating year, what it failed to mention is that the line between Reedham and Great Yarmouth was closed from October 2018 to February 2020, to enable the resignalling of the Wherry Lines.

  3. Barney Arms gets a more frequent service on Sundays than it does the rest of the week. At Norwich one Sunday morning I informed the guard of a Great Yarmouth train that I wanted to alight at Bernry Arms. He looked at me as if I had two heads! On arrival, I was welcomly greeted by a mooing cow…❤!!

  4. Well it IS isolated, I'll grant you that, but I think we can slightly amend that to the most isolated in England.
In Wales, there is tough competition for your title at more than one station on the Heart of Wales line, and it almost goes without saying that first prize must go to one of SEVERAL contenders on different lines in Scotland.!!

  5. I love requesting these least used stations. Back in early September I went from Portsmouth Arms (2nd least used station in Devon) to Chapelton (least used station in Devon (for my Tik Tok account, no promotion)) I asked one of the conductors for a ticket to Chapelton and return. He was probably being trained as he didn't have the handheld ticket machine so he spoke to the other conductor on the platform and I saw he mouthed "Chapelton" with a confused look. When we arrived at Chapelton the conductor told me "We've never sold a ticket from Portsmouth Arms to Chapelton" I feel very special now.

  6. I see there is at least one other person there!

Also, if you call that a small platform, I have to wonder how you would describe Mindaribba, a station on the regional Hunter Line in New South Wales, which is barely longer then a single set of train doors.
