Je viens de recevoir mon tout premier brompton (C line 12 vitesses) commandé sur leur site en ligne.
Au déballage et premier montage du vélo une pièce métallique légère s'est décrochée mais je ne sais pas c'était simplement une attache de serrage ou si je dois la replacer quelque part. Par avance merci pour votre aide.

It’s the front wheel hook cover from the rear triangle, they always fall off nothing to worry about.
I thought it was a piece of litter 😬
So is the purpose to fit to my frame and prevent scratching damage?
Il s’agit d’une protection du triangle arrière lorsqu le Brompton est replié, le crochet de fourche vient se mètre sur le triangle. On place cette pièce entre le triangle arrière et le crochet de fourche.
since it is already off your bike, take it to a laser etching shop and print your name / bike name on it, put a stronger double sided tape and paste it back on. now u have a personalized Brommie 😃
I do think that Brompton should do something about this part. Even if it’s just too put a sticker on it saying it’s not needed and will fall off shortly after you unbox your bike.
How many times have we seen photos of this part asking about it so far this year? Is it 10 or nearer 20 times? It must be the most commonly asked question on here. I would also suggest there’s a sticky thread to explain what it is too.
PS I never even had one when I collected mine and rode it to the station and home. The shop obviously found it hard fallen off and threw it away. If your haven’t seen it and it’s not needed then how could I miss it? I think that’s a sensible thing a bike shop could do too.
