I sold my Surly Pack Rat to a friend back in 2023 and was effectively without a bike for years. Thought I would outgrow the hobby but after a while I kept thinking that I wanted to ride again. After some prompting by my friends, I picked up this retro modern single speed 26er made by a local framebuilder. Rediscovered my love for bike riding within seconds of getting on it.

I intend to make this a do-everything ATB, built for exploring, commuting to the gym and the store, and the occasional gravel/trail ride. Most of the changes for now will be aesthetic since I’m not a fan of the purple parts. I intend to keep it single speed for a while, but it does have a rear derailleur mount for when I inevitably go on some longer, more hilly rides.

This looks very tasty and like lot of fun. Somehow it reminds of childhood, when we rode fixed gear bikes around the village with my cousins. Just we didn’t have such cool bikes like this. Really nicely put together. 🙂
