Thank you for marking this video as NSFW. If I got caught looking at black bears at work again I’d be toast.

So beautiful, hot the first day up and over Sulphur mountain. The camping on white ledge was rough, not to mention the hike a bike bits, then camp itself, no flat spots that weren’t takes, was basically sliding down the hill the whole night.

The second day was much cooler, then at the top it was really really cold, then it started to rain, ice cold rain, hands hurting on the ride. Pretty much all along Nordhoff ridge after climbing Sissar it was biting cold. Decided not to camp as planned that night but hurried down to Gridley Trail.

Gridley Trail was the highlight for sure. Several miles of some of the best flowy single track. So so so beautiful. So many different smells, Sages and what I thought was incense cedar, and so many colors. The whole mountain in bloom, and it warmed up as we descended so the rain wasn’t biting, just getting soaked up by the trail, dirt was perfect.

Then after brisket and beers in town it was a really nice bike path descent back to the base of Sulphur Mountain.

The Ojai Rim Loop, would like to go back and spend another night at the top weather permitting.
