Wow, I have toe rub in my Orbea Orca, a little bit, and it only rubs the underside of the shoe. My RC7s are perfectly fine, although I only have 4000km on that bike.

I don‘t know what you did with them but my 3 year old RC7 look like brandnew, even though I‘m graveling with them

It could be just a small amount of damage a while ago led to it spreading. Mine are about 6 months old but the leather seems quite sensitive to any scratches- I can see how this could happen. I rode SIDI before these and the SIDI seem more durable

If your shoes get damaged in this area, it seems more like a user error.
This part of the shoe is not supposed to have contact with anything. You are probably scraping this part on your pedals or tires or whatever.

What if they were black shoes?

I had my RC7’s for 6 years and they looked close to new. Something is not quite right here.

My 3 or 4 year old RC702s don’t even look this bad and I have lost track of the amount of times I have crashed in them

Do you know where the damage is coming from?
What have you done?
