Hey! Looking to pick up my first road bike and came across what I thought was a pretty decent deal on FB Marketplace.
Been doing 40-70km rides every weekend (on my buddy’s bike), I’m training for a 130km gran fondo this fall.
Would love to hear your expertise/opinion.
The details:
• Frame: Full carbon (Advanced-Grade), size Large.
• Groupset: Shimano 105.
• Tires: Basically new
• Brakes: swapped the original brakes out for cable instead of hydraulic.
• Condition: Really good. It has always been stored indoors. There are a few small scratches here and there from normal riding, but nothing major.
Clean bike, rides smooth, and is ready to go.

You will need to make peace with the mechanical brakes swap. Putting it back to hydraulic is a pain as you need different levers, hydraulic housing, and the brake bodies. That is a noticeable downgrade in value of the bike.
I never really buy claims of like new. The only way that makes sense is if the seller has dropped significant cash on a full disassembly tuneup just before selling the bike. If they did that why sell the bike? Any pictures of the drivetrain would be helpful as the picture of the wrong side of the bike does not say much.
I would still like the price to come down 150ish CAD. Though stuff in this price range seems to move in the Canadian market.
