Eric’s experiences with shelters and transitional programs reveal a cycle that often sees individuals returning to the streets. If you or know someone that has been in a shelter, what is your experience?
Rather sleep in woods with deers and bears much less of chance of getting attacked by them if you leave them alone. Humans are the ones that suck and are dangerous
Crazy how they make being homeless illegal in FL but most these shelters are full or got a 1-3 WEEK WAITING LIST THAT IS NOT GUARENTEED. WTF THEY WANT THE HOMELESS TO DO?? SYSTEM IS BROKEn
And we give Israel MILLIONS of dollars every WEEK. Our government dont give a shit about Americans we are nothing but slaves to them and their overlords in Israel.
Yeah and if you got a little comfort dog they treat you like a dog shelter are phony believe in God and you can eat otherwise get lost shelters suck they don't help nobody but themselves
Shelters I was at in Las Vegas were well ran, clean, security guards kept everyone safe and kicked out troublemakers. They even set me up with a case worker, food and water, and eventually housing.
You forgot the bed bug infestation, the rancid food, the broken showers, THE MENTALLY ILL PATIENTS, AND PREDATORS. Tell it ALL including the Identity theft by staff and filing false charges on people. There is no proper oversight. They need to ask why someone has been homeless FOR DECADES AND WITH GENERATIONS OF FAMILIES…
yea shelters nowadays just ran by money hungry people who dont care about residents they just got a weird control thing going on. i just got kicked out of one couple days ago for spraying air sanitizer cuz the dude sleeping in the bottom bunk bed under me had moldy shoes that smelled like rotting flesh (he never showers) and when i said his shoes smelled like 💩 they tried to call it bullying and kicked me out for “intimidation”
What are you saying is true here in new Braunfels at the NB Housing partner I was homeless for a couple years on the streets. I got into the program around August 2025 after I got out of court. They say they’re there to help you but they’re not, they have strict rules don’t give me wrong. I understand the rules, but at the end of the day they want to take a certain amount of your money and they keep a hold of it. I guess that’s good at the end of the day. I don’t want somebody else holding my money for me. I’m a grown adult but other than that what I’m trying to say is you’d have to get a good look of the homeless shelter see how you feel about it before you say something because a lot of these homeless shelters are not really great especially here in new Braunfels.
I'm messed up America ABSOLUTELY they are trash places run by horrible ppl, in Australia it's the OPPOSITE. ALL o sr Australia our homeless shelters are actually wonderful and so help ppl. Such a difference between the cultures America isan older country then us yet we Aussie's ALREADY have a golden charitable system. It's so normal for us we probably take it for granted a little
I agree with you. I did everything right, got a job, found an apartment then because of their unreasonable protocol, I lost everything, then they exited me with the excuse that five people are coming in. I was sucker-punched in the gut. As soon as I walked in the door, they called me in the office and gave me the news. I had to leave immediately.
But they take in people with severe mental challenges, they get exited to jail but get to come right back. Why, because their services are paying the bills. Some female staff members call women who have been to various shelters, “ SHELTER WHORES”
WE TRUST YOU BROS. SO, WE BETTER DONATE DIRECTLY TO THE HOMELESS PEOPLE STRAIGHT AWAY, WHEREEVER WE MEET THEM. THANK YOU FOR LET US KNOW ABOUT THIS TRUTH. ❤😊
So the problem with the homeless shelters is the homeless people making it bad for themselves and those around them… the shelters provide what they can. What do the homeless provide
My first minute in a NYC shelter I had to walk the gauntlets of some of the most dangerous ex cons demanding my boots and jacket. Back in the 80s when The Bowery was a dangerous place in the morning and night
I love when people who never experienced these so called social services provide you with a list of services that do not help. They think you don't want to cooperate to help yourself as if you never tried them.
I have a Ford Flex. Park behind a walmart or other big box store with a forest behind it where cops won't see you, sleep, then go to work. Live in a rural area? Pull off a dirt road into the woods (just don't do it during hunting season).
i used to be in a shelter here in australia in cairns an the one i was in there would be fights especially the men an u had to leave at 9 was allowed back in at 3 if u wasnt there by 5 u would be locked out im glad i met someone though if im homeless again at least i have my own car id sleep in that
Why don’t you start working at the shelter and helping taking out the trash help feeding people work a night shift? They’ll let you stay there longer getting any good with management. Be wise use discernment ask God to show you what to do and start reading the Bible day and night it will change your life
Shelters are like jail with its doors open. I lived in a shelter for 2 years it's disgusting people are always stealing smoking crack cocaine shooting up fentanyl or heroin. A guy O.D. on fentanyl right across from me and died they had to clear out the room for 4 hours . As soon as the room reopened they put a new intake in the same bed the guy died in. I was flabbergasted.
100% I've been homeless for awhile now. And it's difficult, I've gotten stolen from when I was sleep. And I've gotten kicked out for almost hurting the person badly.
Multiple times I've been stolen tho from and never reacted because it wasn't worth the energy. But after awhile it's like YO!
I'm currently sleeping by the library in a bush, but I have a blanket and portable phone charger. Luckily, lately it's been really warm out.
It's so hard tho man financially, I got kids and I'm doing everything I can but there is no support. I literally everyday go see my son for a couple hrs and then have to leave to sleep in a bush outside.
Makes me wanna cry man. But I don't have time for those kinds of feelings right now cuz I gotta keep trying.
We need to separate the homeless that want to strive and work, into programs and the homeless that are mentally ill to special needs, and the drug addicts to far away from the city shelters👍 I know I been homeless twice.
I cannot imagine being homeless; I've been close a couple of times. They are setting up a place in my city where people can set up their tents all in one secure location.
Worst places to go are shelters the employees sell drugs the people running them use them as trap houses he is right fighting stealing abuse by employees they kick out the people doing for themselves and trying so the gang members the drug dealers the hookers that work in or outside get to stay the money they get is decided on the number of peoole going through it so the ones they quickly kick out are for the numbers gets them money in grants and donations the ones with god on the walls are the worse and the fakest no one cares. Not enough shelters and yet people say you could be in one its part of the problem

This Amish dude is right. Shelters suck. Roll solo. Blend In. Stay lowkey
Canada is shit. America is shit. I am so sad and sorry.
as a person who has BEEN IN THE STREETS, yeah this is FOR REAL.
And we give Israel MILLIONS of dollars every WEEK. Our government dont give a shit about Americans we are nothing but slaves to them and their overlords in Israel.
They want you working and that’s it
was a homeless meth addict for 3 years, its the truth, the shelter was the place youd go if you wanted your shit stolen from you
Yeah those horrible shelters don't allow drug use and constantly push you to get clean. Terrible.
Yeah and if you got a little comfort dog they treat you like a dog shelter are phony believe in God and you can eat otherwise get lost shelters suck they don't help nobody but themselves
He’s correct

They gotta go for good
NYC same situation

I was homeless, and the first thing I instinctively understood right off the bat was to stay away from other homeless people.
Inly go to shelters when its gonna be roo cold for your usual mwthods
Plus, they’re full of bugs, if you spend one night in a shelter guaranteed, you’re gonna get body lice and scabies
I hope you get the right help if I had money I would help you out, but I don’t so I thought
He Says True Facts
Welcome to the Homeless Industrial Complex. 16 yrs of being homeless now. What he speaks is true, so I stay in the mountains
Write your city council about stopping police from tearing down homeless from camping in the woods.
I have never met someone who has been through the "shelter experience" that hasn't been traumatized by it.
Homeless shelters in America are the worst
Mostly correct. However helping you doesn't mean enabling you for providing long-term housing in a shelter. It's a revolving door situation
My first minute in a NYC shelter I had to walk the gauntlets of some of the most dangerous ex cons demanding my boots and jacket. Back in the 80s when The Bowery was a dangerous place in the morning and night
Exactly 💯

They need individual rooms cubbies like pocket hotels, that way you can lock it from the inside.

He's 1000 percent right it's clockwork orange in the shelters.

Shelters are made for the poor and homeless but its not safe anymore its sad
Too many people don’t want treatment. They don’t want long term help. They want their drugs.
We need to separate the homeless that want to strive and work, into programs and the homeless that are mentally ill to special needs, and the drug addicts to far away from the city shelters👍 I know I been homeless twice.
