In short.
I fucked up.
Here are the details.
Riding a Slash 8 Gen 6, I wanted to upgrade from my Fox 36 Grip fork.
I found a too good to be true deal for a RockShox Zeb for 250€ new.
Only then did I notice my mistake after I had already cut the steerer, so I was forced to find a solution for my fuck-up.
After looking deep into Google (page 5), I found two solutions to still run my acclaimed steal of a deal.
Option 1:
This option will change your geometry since it will raise your head tube by 5 mm.
Run an EC ahead cup, placing the bearing below the frame.
(The part Nr. 300.02.1065S-1.8-AM from Acros)
Be aware that riding this setup will void your frame warranty.
I thought I could run this setup even if I increased the fork travel to 170 mm, since Trek says you can run the Slash up to 180 mm of travel.
However, after contacting Trek, I learned otherwise. Since they only warrant your frame with setups and modifications they have tested themselves.
I got my Slash in January this year, so this option flew out the window like my hair did when I realized what I had gotten myself into.
Option 2:
Have a Ton of force press out the steerer.
ND Tuned provides adapters and shafts to replace your 1.8" steerer tubes.
This option, while more time-consuming and Pricey, cost me 150€.
Finding someone who can do this is your next big mission.
I luckily found several people in Europe who provide this kind of service for forks.
A guy in Austria, a company in Poland, and one in Germany.
I went with the person in Austria whom I found on MTB News, a German MTB page.
Hope this Post helps you out of your expensive Mistake.
Cheers!

5 mm headset raise is about 2 mm at the bottom bracket and 0.25° slacker headtube and seattube angles. Not something to worry about I’d say.
My giant had a 1.8” headtube and I bought a 1.5” fork, you can buy reducer crown races
