Hi, I’m 174 cm tall (I haven’t measured my inseam yet), and I’m looking to buy a 90s MTB for all-terrain use. I’m having trouble choosing the right size and would really appreciate your advice.

Here are the two options I’m considering:

– Panasonic Prong Horn

Seat tube: 480 mm

Top tube: 550 mm

– Trek 950

Seat tube: 420 mm

Top tube: 540 mm

Since these are older MTB geometries, I’m not sure how to interpret the sizing. Which one would fit me better?

Thank you!

I think either might work unless you have very long arms or legs. The Panasonic might be a slightly better fit though. You can also always adjust the reach with a shorter or longer stem and the optimum seat height with the seat post up or down.

I am about 12mm taller than you and ride a 90’s Specialized with similar sizing to the Panasonic you posted. I don’t think size will be a problem.

You can barely go too small or too big with them. Just choose whatever you like more.
