Hi, all. Looking to buy a mix-use bike, one that has a front fork (for a particular accessory that I'll be using), and that seems to count out any gravel for XC bikes. I'll be riding primarily paved/gravel, and not going particularly long distances – one reason why the "less aggressive tires" are a positive.

I found this Trek Marlin 6 on Facebook – I think it's a Gen 1 due to the exterior routed cables. The seller is looking for $350, and sent a video showing full functionality of gears and brakes. Here's what the seller posted;

"29 inch hardtail. Hydraulic disc brakes. Tires are like new with a less aggressive tread design perfect for gravel or paved rail trails. Ready to ride. It’s a large by trek sizing. Everything works well I just tuned the shifters and the brakes are smooth and quiet. Only flaws are small and cosmetic just from riding."

Is this a good buy, worth negotiating, or passing completely? Thank you for the help!

    350 is high for a 5 year old bike that msrped at 700.

    It would be okay at 250-300 though

    I learned to ride on this bike. For the right price, $250 ish it’d be good for a new rider
