The “tight” label and arrow being engraved on the outer cap is confusing me and making me overthink things as usual. I want to loosen the inner bolt to remove the crank. Is the “tight” arrow referring to the inner bolt?
Just undo the inner bolt (it will be tight) & keep on turning.
The outer part is the self-extractor ring which has a reverse thread, hence arrow ‘tight’ is in reverse direction from regular. Do not remove this!

The arrow is referring to the outer cap since it’s reverse thread but it needs to stay on as it’s essential for removing the crankarm. The inner bolt is regular thread (counter clockwise to loosen). The inner bolt will loosen off a bit and then hit the outer cap which is necessary to extract the crank arm. When it hits the outer cap it will get harder to turn but keep turning it until the crankarm comes off
