My wife and I rode from Walland to Townsend and back on a beautiful Saturday morning yesterday. We love riding in this area, nice rolling terrain and low traffic. So many cyclists use this route that several homes have decorated bike displays by the road. If you're ever in the Smoky Mountains, you definitely should hit this route and the Cades Cove loop (do Cades Cove on Wednesdays before they let the cars in).
I'm still on my 30+ year old Cannondale R800 while my SuperSix Evo is in the shop. This bike still thrills me after all these years – nimble and fast. My wife was on her Pinarello Prince.
