I've had my eye on Canyon GEAR GROOVE Aero Extensions ever since I bought my 2024 Canyon Grail. I thought I would benefit from different riding positions on the longer rides. I figured I should purchase them before Canyon stopped selling them. There were just some things that didn't sit right with me. The price for one and they looked kind of clunky. I figured I may be able to find a better solution. I opted to purchase Zipp's Vuka Clip with Carbon Evo Extensions with 70mm rise extension. I custom machined a 31.8mm mount to bolt onto the factory bar location, powder coated it matte black to match, and topped it off with a custom 3D printed cap. While I was at it I purchased some blip shifters and 3D printed holders for them to slide onto the bar ends. After I am done dialing in the position I will trim off excess material. In the end the assembly came in lighter than the GEAR GROOVE and at about half the cost. I got out for my first ride with them. Put on 130km and couldn't be happier. They are an absolute game changer for me.
