Kind of a lot for a used bike if your focus is city riding. You should be able to find something that suits for less, ideally looks for something with mounting points for a front/rear rack. You’ll see them on the fork and top/bottom of the rear triangle.

Carbon frame will make it a bit lighter, but for 1000 you can get lots of hybrid options brand new tbh. More modern bikes are more likely to have a 1x drivetrain, which can make it a bit simpler to use.
