Hi everyone,
I recently bought a BEEQ E850 ebike but I couldn't assemble the front wheel.
The fork is a suntour with one of those patented thru axles with the spring loaded tip.
The springy part slides no problem but past that it just gets stuck. like you can see in the video, it gets so stuck that I can remove the hub cap with it.
I have been waiting for a solution from the manufacturer but they have been utterly useless so far and been very unresponsive for 2 weeks now. So, before I escalate further, I would love the opinion of this subreddit.
Am I being dumb and missing something, or am I right to complain they got something wrong with the wheel?
Couple of FYIs:
– The hub seems to be an HB-TC500 if that matters.
– I've tried inserting it with both the springy part retracted and expanded (ive seen all the tutorial videos…)
– It gets really stuck, like I would need to use a hammer to even move it a millimeter inwards
– My digital meter says there is a very little diference in width between the hub opening and the thru axle width (like 1mm difference)
Also sorry about video quality, was recording with my other hand

Have you tried taking the Q-Loc portion off and sliding the axle through the attaching the Q-Loc
I have a silat through axle, it was always a hassle to get in and out. I only do threaded though axles since
Theres an opening inside the middle of the hub that’s a larger diameter than the ends, so the lock opens.
You just have to stick something long through the other end of the hub and push on the end of the thru-axle to open the lock. I use an 8mm or 10mm hex key.
Can you push down and twist the end? I had a thru axle that looked like that, and doing that made it possible to get the axle in.
Looks like you are loading from the wrong side. Should be loading from disk side…
If its getting stuck when you push the end in and turn slightly, then it sounds like the internal part of the hub is not round
Q-Loc sucks eggs it’s a royal pain in the ass and a poster child for overcomplicating a fucking bolt. I hated it and always had a struggle with it.
It does look like you’re inserting from the wrong side.
When it gets stuck if you look inside from the other side can you verify it is still fully collapsed?
