I'm trying to buy a bike, an all-mountain bike, a trail bike that i can take to the bike park. I've been looking on Second Hand websites and i found this Orbea Occam, in my size (S), for about 1200 €. From the pics I can tell the transmission is cooked but it looks okay-ish overall. What do you guys think? I want to negotiate down to 1000 € for the transmission and pedals. I currently have a 24" dirt jumper. My budget is 1200 € max… What bikes should i look for? Is this Occam worth it? I can't find second-hand bikes in a Small size, I've been looking for months now. Any thought helps!

Very good bike, very solid specs generally. If it looked like in great condition and had fork and rear shock serviced (at least once) I wouldn’t think twice.
This one looks quite beaten so 1000 would be my max (less normally but it’s the LT model with good parts – which only helps you if they work, though).
The frame has a reputation of holding up well, rear shock bolt had a problem and retrofit for first generation, linkage bolts should be checked for function and noise, and the wheels have a history of developing cracks around the spoke holes – you might want to have a close look.
I have an Occam and have to say it’s a fantastic do-it-all trail bike imo.
