  1. Check the tube first. The pressure of the tube normally holds the wheel against the rim for tire/rim combos like this. If you are pumping air into it and nothing is happening, the tube will need replacing.

Follow a guide online if its your first time.

Air could help, but it’s an American bike right? There are loads of different sizes of tyre that are labelled the same.

Edit, I thought the next weird size was closer. This tyre is loose, but workeable.

If it’s presta, make sure it’s open and try switching the valve core. If that doesn’t work, replacing the tube is all you need if no air enters the tube. If air enters the tube but quickly deflates, check the tyre for sharp stuff and the rim for sharp edges before putting the new tube in.

Looks like your tube is not holding air. If there is no obvious damage to the tire you’re good to just replace the tube and leave the tire.

If you plan to cycle much you’ll get flats every now and then. I highly recommend you learn to change the tube yourself! Once you’re good at it you can get it done in under 10 minutes, but don’t be frustrated if it takes you longer than that the first time.

Also, push the valve out by pushing down on the tire where the valve is so you can correctly pump up the tube. It looks like your pump isn’t attached correctly

I don’t think your pump is attached to the valve, you need to flip the little lever up

Your tire was never attached to the wheel in the first place.
Tolerances are all difference and when a old, used tire goes flat you’ll get all that sag and such because its been stretch and used. Plus having no air in the tires and it sitting flat , will just life the tire up while the rim sits on the ground

What kind of valve is on the tube? If it’s a Presta make sure you’ve opened it fully and push it in once quickly to make sure it’s not stuck.
