  1. My super short 4'10" wife rides a custom built Rodriguez Phinney Ridge with 26 inch wheels with 2 wheel sets, velo spec tubing, 1x and a dropper post and it's the nicest bike I've ever seen.

  2. i would never suggest cube i know a person in a pro team who rides cube says it is bad compared to his old sworks sl6 i think it was

and my friend also has the aero one with ceramic speed everything and the higher end carbon spokes 60mm wheels and it always had some problem and he is still trying to sell it under 50% of buying value for over 1.5y

  3. You don't necessarily need a custom frame either: go for a custom build of anstock frame and get exactly the bike you want.
Our local shop has said that of "enthusiasts" that's the majority of bikes sold.

  4. My Cube Cross Race pro has the right geometry for a do it all bike, as well as rack and mudguards mounts. If I could get it a bit lighter and a bit more aero it would be the ultimate do it all bike. Was only £1,300 though!

  5. Three words for you: fairlight, fairlight, fairlight.

Best off the peg steel bikes. The fairlight secan with two wheelsets would be the perfect do-it-all bike.

  6. My Checkpoint ALR5 (x2) Gen 2 is my do it all bike with a 2nd wheel set. The most comfortable bike I have ever owned and I'm old (56). Having the x2 makes it a fast road bike with the same gearing.

  7. I have more than one roadbike and a mountainbike now, but when I got back into cycling 3 years ago, I bought a Stevens Vapor 1x with mechanical GRX groupset. It came with a 40t chainring and 11-34 cassette, but I got a longer cage on the derailleur so I can run a 11-46 XT cassette with a 44t chainring. I also put some 51mm deep carbon wheels with 23mm inner width on it. I have a 46t aero chainring for the summer, when I mainly use it as a commuter bike. I think I'm gonna throw some 40mm roadtires on it this summer. It has an aluminium frame and is fairy close to roadbike geometry, since it is a cyclo cross bike. It even has mounts for a rack. Easily the most versatile bike in my little collection.
