    A little bubbling might be ok while the sealant is sealing, this is Old Faithful. Re-tape and try again.

    Usually means the tape isn’t creating an airtight seal. Sometimes sealant will work and seal it up, but you’ll be better off replacing the tape

    I’m guessing you have DT Swiss wheels, I had the same issue. I ran some rim tape over the seam, inside and out and than tape the rape haven’t had an issues with them in 2 years of riding.

    Edit: update, my wheels would leak air from the rim seam with sealent in the tire.

    Are they tubeless compatible? If so you need to retape. Never use stock tape.

  5. Wider tape that runs all the way up the inside of the bead will help, but also, put sealant in. This doesn’t mean much if there’s no sealant in it.

  6. it happens more than it should. I started to use a super glue/contact glue to seal the joint and not waste sealant or tape

    You probably need to do another layer of tape or just re-tape in general. You need to keep throwing sealant in it, sometimes it take a couple applications. Alloy wheels with seems are notorious for leaks, thus proper tape jobs are important. Be very careful getting the tire on or using lever you aren’t disturbing the tape

  8. What does the rim look like from the inside with no tape in the way? A hole in what should be a continuous airtight metal join doesn’t seem right. I’m not a materials stress analyst, but it seems to me that it will be somewhere for a failure regardless of tube/tubeless.

    WTF??? WHY is there a crack in the RIM?? The air came from the area formally-known-as-the brake track. I can see a straight crack that might be the rim seam from manufacturing? That AIN’T from rim tape or the tire not sealing!!!!
