since when is visma the strongest team out there? Also, the biggest problem that Visma has is they are underestimating Pogi (they are almost delusional). Visma believes that Pogi and UAE is stupid, and they don't train and work on their team weaknesses and they are in denial and think that if Pogi couldn't do something once that's it he will never be able to do it. Like c'mon. Visma is overconfident they believe they are the most dominant out there and they need to ground themselves and go from there only that way they will be able to defeat Pogi. Btw I am Pogi fan, but this is an objective observation
If Visma is continuing all this “tactical issues” they will lose everything. This is a bike race not chess. Of course they need tactics but they also need passion, they need to attack, they need to be freaky. Like Jonas was on the tt-stage
can’t fault them for trying; there was never any way that jonas was going to be able to attack tadej—they’re stayed strategy was setting a high enough pace to ride him off the wheel, but the dude is literally a robot. so now it would seem the only possibility is to try and sneak into a break, which is no real possibility at all. but we’ll see what happens tomorrow. maybe they can hit him with the team car 😭😭
The thing about Visma is that all their rides and tactics are about "how to make Pogacar fail" while UAE's ones are "what should we do to win" they should think more about themselves instead of focusing on their opponent
They ended up making it hard, not for Tadej or Jonas, but for their own team. Epic fail, mostly a fail because they did not exactly made friends in the peloton with their annoying & useless tactics.
Why is this utterly pathetic sport still allowed to continue how many times can they be caught cheating and still call it a professional sport its riddled with cheats and cheating at every level
I don't understand that isolation thing: If Visma rider < Vingegaard < Pogacar or if UAE rider < Pogacar < Vingegaard. How is Pogacar in the first scenario or Vingegaard in the second isolated? The rider in the front is cutting the wind, saving wattage for the rider behind and no matter who is in front, Pogacar or Vingegaard being last lets them ride with lower wattage needed too anyhow.
Why are people being so tough on them? They're literally the only team that dared to pick up the glove, 21 race days in a row, and they sealed it with an eventual win directly against pogacar.
If Visma wasn't in this Tour it would've been an absolutely boring race to watch. Visma made this Tour so hard and so extreme, and it paid it off in the end.
They were just up against a superhuman in super shape. It literally took 21 race days of constantly putting him under pressure to eventually break him on day 21 on the Montmartre.
The tactic did work. Pogacar is just leagues above everyone else, so it took longer than expected, and Vingegaard had a few off days, which is unusual for him. Pogi made full use of those off days, as he should have.
But without those off days I'm pretty sure it would've been an even more exciting race, possibly even fought out between the two on the Montmartre.
