This is my beloved 1998 Cannondale M400 that I’ve grown up with and continue to abuse every day. It was my dad’s old bike that he got from before I was born, which sat unused out in the backyard rotting and rusting for more than 10 years. It wasn’t until I was 13 years old that I brought the bike to a shop and had it revived. Since then, it’s been my everything bike. It’s my commuter bike that I use to get to work and classes. It’s my adventure bike to ride on roads and trails. I’ve thrashed the hell out of this bike. It’s my mountain trail tackler, rock rider, mud muncher, and my daily commuter. It’s old, and heavy, but I’d never think about using a different bike. I’m 23 now, and this bike reminds me of all the times I rode to middle school, high school, and now college. I’ve easily ridden at least 3500 miles in the past 5 years on it. I absolutely love my bike.

From what I can tell, the bike is practically all stock. The only thing I majorly changed was removing a rear rack that my dad installed. I recently 3D printed some replacement handlebar plugs which were missing since I first had it fixed up. I also designed and 3D printed a watch mount for easier timekeeping! The saddle is finally starting to crack from at least 20 years of unprotected outside storage, so I slapped some all-weather duct tape on it. This bike is pure jank, and I love it that way.
