Okay take 2 bc the image didn't upload for some reason when I posted the first time: My bicycle is too tall for me, not pictured, but I'm on tippy toes when stopped. I'd say I'm an "average" short person height?- a little over 5', nothing requiring a custom build- but mine is a road bike and I have proven to be not road-bike-sized with that bar trying to cleave me in two. So I figure I should get a step-through or mixte frame maybe? I know next to nothing about bikes though, so am trying to acquire something relatively easy to maintain (i.e. no super rare specialized collector grade nonsense, I am a pro goofball not a pro cyclist), just intending to use it for bopping around the neighborhood streets. Is this a decent find? YES cost is a factor, bc, :gestures towards economy: but also I do like old stuff bc it tends to be sturdier. Anyways. The description was something like 'beautiful antique bike. Fixer upper. Brakes worked fine when tires had air'
Plz help, tysm IDK sos

On tippy toes when stopped isn’t necessarily too big for you, I’d say that’s probably about right – now if you can’t stand over the top bar or you can’t lower your seat any more and you’re still not comfortable when pedaling, that’s a different thing.
This particular bike is probably not right for you as a newbie, that thing is like 50 years old lol. I’d be looking at something newer, like a secondhand Trek FX or similar
