I’m between two bikes.

Canyon Endurace CF SLX 7 Di2

I know the Tarmac is slightly more aggressive, but at the Sam time the Canyon seems way better value? Coming with carbon wheels, handlebar, power meter while the Tarmac is all alloy in those components and no power meter.

Is Specialized worth the extra cost for less?

  1. Spesh gets my dollars due to having an actual dealer network that can help me. Frame makes the bike for me.

  2. You’re looking at a race bike versus an endurance bike. Questions of value don’t *really* play out here because only one of them is the right bike for you, depending on how you ride. If you need the aggressiveness of a Tarmac, the Endurace will be too relaxed for you, and vice versa.

If you *were* to ignore the frame geometry and look only at the spec, then yes, the Endurace is a better value as Canyon typically is. The flipside to that is, as mentioned by the other comment, Canyon has no dealer network and poor support/spare parts availability.

Most people would probably also regard the Tarmac SL8’s frame as being superior, given that it is a high-end race frame weighing in *under* the weight of most other brands’ flagship frames. The only reason Specialized doesn’t consider it a flagship frame themselves is because they have something *even lighter*.
