I bought a Kona Unit as my first single speed mountain bike a couple weeks ago, and have been having an absolute blast on it. I have been having some difficulties with getting the chain tension correct.
I can get the chain tensioned correctly, but then I go on a ride, which is usually some rougher singletrack, and the chain loses quite a bit of tension after just riding once.
I tighten the sliding dropouts to about 20-25 nm, which feels like plenty to me.
I will say that I have had no issues with chain slipping, or the chain dropping, but I can see a very slight drooping in the chain as I pedal forward and the teeth catch, which just seems too loose, but I could just be overthinking it.
Anyone have experience with tensioning these Kona type sliding dropouts experience similar issues?
included a picture of a similar setup.
