I have recently relaced a hub with a new rim on my rear wheel with new spokes and nipples.
I have brought all spokes up to roughly the same specified tension, some nearing max spec. The Non Drive Side is slightly less. It is an assyentric rim. Ive stopped truing laterally it because as you can see in the video, I noticed from underneath that the wheel is lifting up as if it has a low spot, but I can see it lifts up for near half the diamter of the rim when I spin it slowly.
The rim is brand new, am I missing something?
First wheel lacing, if it isnt obvious enough

You probably just need to loosen the two spokes (one on each hub side) closest to the hop.
Correct a hop by tightening all four or so spokes where the hop is. Go easy, though. May have to loosen spokes on opposite side.
Hey man.
Factory spokes are not all even in length, can lead to uneven-ness,
Also assymetrical rims should have pretty close spoke tension the over lap should be on the ‘tighter’ side of the hub.
I look at the rim movement as waves, the crest or apex and adjust the closest spokes accordingly, where you are now with the wheel build, start working with the hop, find the highest and lowest point of the waves make a half turn on the two closest and quarter turn on the next set of spokes.
Hope this makes sense and good luck.
If this is a MTB wheel I’d call it good as the tire will have even more variation than this 2mm wheel hop. Nicely built!
