I recently traded some parts and got these in the deal. I admittedly don’t know a whole lot about them other than a little bit of googling. I was curious what you guys know, what bikes they came on, how they compared to campy / shimano from that same time? Etc.
After cleaning them up I just think they look fantastic. Considering using these in a build someday, figured I’d first ask those who have some Modolo knowledge… Would love to learn more!

My first Trek, a 660, came equipped with Modolo brakes. They look nice, but were a bit flexy. You may want to replace the brake pads. By now they are probably super hard and not very effective.
hey those look great but i hate to brake… it to you but modolo is trash.
I used to have a pair of Master Pro’s on a bike in the late 80’s early 90’s. They squeaked horribly and I dumped them for a pair of Campy Chorus brakes when changing pads didn’t fix the issue.

You might be able to get proper braking out of them if you use brake levers with a greater cable pull (e.g. pretty much any Shimano aero brake lever) and Kool stop pads. But I’ve also read that they, the speedy model, is a bit flexy.
If the brakes worked well, they would have called them “Slowey”
But seriously, the cross section is too thin they are flexy and squeal.
Speedy’s are great brakes for casual rides and such. It’s not easy finding hoods for the levers below $100.
