The state needs to explain what the problem with the easement is. I think the land owner is using the only leverage they have with an unreasonable state agency.
Maybe the state is correct, and they could show this by explaining the reasoning against the easement. It seems to me the property owners have been reasonable. I’m not sure the state is.
These are my local trails – I sent a message and will be working hard to shut this guy down. Absolutely no one, but him want this.
For a bit of context for everyone not in MN. Cuyuna is our biggest destination MTB area in the state, and a strong argument could be made that it is THE mtb destination in northern midwest region.
The section he is blocking is the sole access trail to the majority of the main trail system. This effectively prevents all access to trail system.

What is the history of this land? I am thinking it was all privately owned by mining companies at one point. Those mines were not profitable and then the majority of the land was donated to the state.
Why is the state preventing access to the remaining land they do not own?
Also, why do I have the feeling if the area was still privately owned that the state would have no problem granting the easements to the owner of the land locked parcels.
