Hi guys, this is my first post on reddit ever. Joined this group before I started my bikepacking trip a week ago. I will finish LA – SF the day after tomorrow. Do you have any ideas which route I could ride next?
My plan was to go from SF to Salt Lake City next but there will be winter storms in South Lake Tahoe this and next week. Since I have only a half tent and clothing for temperatures above 5 degree celcius, this isn’t really an option anymore.
I could take the amtrek and go wherever, but I’m missing good routes (mix of bikepath and not to heavy gravel) for the next 2 – 4 weeks. Would be awesome if you can share your thoughts.

You could head to Klamath Falls for the Oregon Outback trail. I’d spend a week or two in the Bay area riding gravel before heading that way though – central Oregon is going to be pretty cold for the next two/three weeks.
You could also take Amtrak to San Diego and ride Baja. You’ll need bigger tires if you want to ride gravel there though (the “gravel” is mainly sand).
