Cycling EuroVelo 1 in Portugal continues! Today we ride the breathtaking Atlantic coast into the historic town of Viana do Castelo.
From drying out the tent to navigating “questionable” cobbles on the route, Day 36 of this journey is filled with incredible ocean views, a warm welcome into town, and the search for the perfect Portuguese treat. The Minho region is truly showing off today!

The ride into Viana do Castelo was easily one of the most beautiful stretches so far! 🌊 Has anyone else braved those boulders on the EuroVelo 1? Let me know what you think of the views (and the donuts) in the comments! 👇
the bike ive got you is not a cheap bike,Chris
Beautiful coast road!
Thanks for great video, the town is so different to when I was there in 1980! It was like a third world town, very dirty, filthy restaurants etc. on the beach to north of the town families lived in sea-weed houses on the beach, the area was an open sewer, everything was done in the open! Now looks so different, enjoy your journey, but be careful in the remoter parts of the country of your security. Roger in Spain 78
Good luck 👍
