We are starting to plan our fall France bike trip from Rochelle to Toulouse. We have booked flights and arrive in Paris on a Sunday morning and hopefully will be through the airport by noon although we are not sure about possible delays with the new entry/exit system for non-Europeans. My question is what is the best option for managing the bikes. My thoughts are either..
-
Ditch bike boxes at the airport and travel by train with the bikes assembled to Rochelle the same day we arrive. Or
-
Book accommodation in Paris near the train station to Rochelle and make our way with bikes in boxes to the accommodation by airport train and by foot. Then try to store the bike boxes for the return trip.
We are not intending to spend much time in Paris either coming or going as we only have just under 3 weeks for our trip.
My question is for anyone who has experienced flying in and out of Paris with bikes.
Is it easy enough to find bike boxes in Paris given only a day or two before departure flights? Is it more difficult traveling on the train with bikes in or out of boxes?

You can find cardboard bike boxes from bike shops quite easily I think. For trains, if you do not have reservations (TGV, Intercités and some TER in peak season), you will need to store your unassembled bike in a dedicated bag that respects these dimensions: 90 x 130 x 50 cm. You will have more informations about this here : [https://www.sncf-voyageurs.com/en/travel-with-us/train-and-bike/your-bike-on-board/](https://www.sncf-voyageurs.com/en/travel-with-us/train-and-bike/your-bike-on-board/)
