We made it back! The best daily dogging channel on YouTube has officially crossed the border from Wales back into England. We’re waking up in a freezing Peak District near Buxton where the “real feel” is just 1°C. After a hectic Friday night mission through the Macclesfield hills and some serious wind, it’s time to see what the Derbyshire bush has to offer.

Today on The Daily Meat, we tackle the bumpy English roads, visit the “Cathedral of the Peaks” in Tideswell, and stock up on Buxton water (when in Rome!). We explore the massive tunnels of the Monsal Trail, fail to reach the Chee Dale stepping stones due to a “skinflint” parking choice, and enjoy a massive 7-inch length of prime chicken breast from the Morrison’s deli. 🥩🐾

In today’s portion of meat:

Bumpy Realities: Feeling the difference in the English roads after 5 days in Wales. 🕳️🚙

Buxton Views: Spotting the Manchester skyline from the high ridges. 🏙️☁️

Tideswell Discovery: Exploring the Gothic “Cathedral of the Peaks” and its rich history. ⛪🏛️

The Monsal Trail: Walking through a massive, moist railway tunnel with Bruno. 🔦🏃‍♂️

The Breast Fest: Bruno and I enjoy some 6-7 inch chicken skewers in the sun. 🍗😋

Fuel Price Mystery: Why is diesel still £1.94 in Buxton? ⛽💸

Secluded Park-up: Finding a quiet spot off the beaten track to watch the clouds roll by.

  1. Welcome Back Rob we were in wales last week and the roads were really good in Snowdonia !! Now look at the difference in the uk eh !!! woeful !! 2.5 tdi was the best now it a small 2.0 with a dam wet belt !!! Stay safe !

  2. Have you ever done the Cotswolds in the meat wagon? Just got back from a few days there and I was very impressed with the immaculately coiffured Cotswolds bush. Much better roads than round my way too, very smooth. A little jaunt through Milton Keynes on the way there and back, too!

  3. Was crazy weather today, few days ago was basking in 26c sunshine and at lunchtime today I was out walking the dog in sleet.

  4. Unleaded at my garage went up a penny last night to 157.9, not down! I’ve seen diesel being sold locally at 204.9! Thanks for the chilled local tour of the Peak District. The £4 lunch deal looked very good👍
