The reins are from manipulating the horse if you're an amateur. Otherwise there are other ways that you direct and guide a horse normally. Also those horses weren't playing around they were upset.
If you don't know to leave the reigns alone on a horse, you have no business being within 100m of a horse. Stupid people proving they can be even more stupid.
No. The reins are usually used for steering, but the main steering happens in the legs, the amount of pressure you need in your legs while riding is crazy, if you know how to ride properly you shouldn’t even need reins
I don't understand why people need to have their picture taken with a horse. It's a giant, smelly, walking nose with hooves, who cares? They should get rid of the horse and have the guy stand there.
those bits can be painful if yanked on or even just by having consistent pressure put on them. tourists who touch the reins could easily cause discomfort and pain.
It’s not said to be the main tool it is the main tool just even simply tugging on the reins can make the horse throw there rider off rear or even buck it can be vary dangerous for both the rider and the tugger/puller

Some People just don't know what Personal Space is.
Maybe cause horses don't wanna stand all day and take photos with annoying tourists…
Those horses were NOT playing when they tried to bite those people! When the horses ears are back that means the horse is pissed off!!
That is not playfully attacking..
Ehhh reins are are big tool but it’s honestly mostly your legs
Useless guards…guarding nothing
It is cruel to force these horses to stand for 2 hrs, it's extremely boring mentally and not good for their legs.

That’s not playfully attacking, you can see their ears are back. That usually means it’s upset or mad.
As an equestrian this is straight bs, we use our legs more often than reins for steering.
