Where to get a bike

Hello, I'm planning this route starting in Venice Italy all the way to bordeaux France. This is the general plan. I'm open to modifying it along th way depending on how things look

this post has two intentions:

First of, hearing opinions, thoughts, and suggestions on the route itself

and two, I still need to get myself a bike, and some gear, was thinking of doing so in Bologna since a friend told me there's a lot of community bike shops and such there, but… does anyone have any recommendations on that as well?

what is the best place in Italy to get a bike from?
