  1. I checked if my train is on time on the way to the station.
It said in the app it's delayed by 15 minutes so I grabbed a snack walked up to the rails to find an empty platform. The train actually did leave on time but the app still showed me I'd have 5 more minutes.
    DB stories.

  2. Nothing better than looking out the window of your modern german ICE train that can go over 300kmh and seeing the field next to you that doesn’t move because you need to make space for a transport train.

  3. Germany known for their efficiency except when it comes to their trains. However when compared to the US, Germany is still way more efficient and reliable even when delayed so somehow the stereotype still works in the end lol.

  4. I once came home earlier, because I could catch a delayed train that went earlier than the one I originally wanted to take, which would have been delayed as well, if I remember correctly.

  5. A Texan in Ireland, trying to show off how big his state is, "A train can leave from one end and not arrive at the other end for days." The Irishman next to him, unaffected, "Aye, we have slow trains here in Ireland too." (A joke my Irish granddad loved to tell.)

  6. Aber das stimmt leider nicht. Die kommen IMMER mindestens 10 Minuten zu spät – ausser an dem Tag, wo du 30sec. zu spät bist, da gehen die Türen pünklich direkt vor deiner Nase zu.

  7. Haha yes, you can always rely on Deutsche Bahn to be delayed. I now book my trains with more buffer because of this, they've gotten so much worse in recent years!

  8. As I sometimes have to take the Eurostar, I have already experienced a situation where the Eurostar had to be changed to another track at short notice because an ICE train was so late that it was blocking the track. The worst part is that the ICE driver left his train there as if he hadn't just moved 1,000 passengers from one end of the station to the other because of his delay.
