It does bring back memories as we were riding down the Rhine (Basel to North Sea) at about the same time as you in 2025 (too bad we didn’t meet).
Speaking of following your footsteps, we are about to do the “Bromptoning Yucatan Route” in a few days (going in the opposite direction however).
We used your blog and video to plan our route (and avoid some of its pitfalls (ex.: highway to Tulum)).
Looking forward to your next visit in MTL (once the snow has melted)
PS The bungee failure could have been quite bad (fast downhill comes to mind). Maybe we should add “Brompton Bungee” to the list of spare parts we bring while touring?
