That is a remnant from when the bike was shipped. Toss it.

The bike rejected it, you would make her angry if you put it back.
While the “toss it” people are probably right, before you dispose of it i would ride it a couple of times to ensure it shifts properly. Them toss it…

That’s a Halfords assembly slip up, unfortunately.
Nothing to worry about for you, as its just remaining transport packaging that wasn’t removed.
