First bike?

I’m looking to get a bicycle for commute and have been digging through this Reddit page for the past few days and wanted to know what the general consensus on this bike was to purchase as a “beginner”. The commute is about 12km (7.5miles), I’d also be interested in just cycling around for some general cardio and exploring. The area I live in is mostly paved roads (fair amount of pit holes) and gravel roads which is why I’ve been looking for a hybrid bike. What I have found is a used Norco Hybrid 700cc, my question is what do those who know infinitely more about the topic have to say about these. Thank you all very much in advance
