  1. Unless you can buy a oem replacement part: dont fix this.
    You don’t want your helmet to come off when you hit your head.

  2. Follow the ‘straps’ to their connection points with the helmet. Sometimes there are multiple (small, medium, large) snap in spots. Possibly your helmet was assembled with mismatched spots. Easy fix but be gentle with it.

    Also sometimes the teeth that keep the tightening mechanism synchronized can slip. Try gently pushing the longer strap in while holding the knob. It might go “click click click” and you can shorten it to match the other.

  3. The tensioner skipped a tooth on one side. Attempting to fix it will likely lead to damaging the mechanism. You have two good options. Forget you ever noticed, or convince yourself that your head is actually asymmetrical and this is the ideal shape for you. It’s all in your head 😉
