It should, if your chain line is off then just put the big chainring where the smaller one would be or leave it where it is if it’s fine. I bought a vintage shimano exage that was perfect chain line.

  2. Yeah 100%. The likelihood is that these chain rings are 3/32 spacing which is for a thinner chain, I would try and find a chainring that’s 1/8 instead so you can run a proper track chain. Also if you find some singlespeed chainring bolts that’ll mean you can take the little ring off. It may also not be the best chain line but honestly I would sweat that too much.

  3. Ofc, and it doesnt look like the rings are bolted shut so you can remove one and it will be just like any other 1x crankset.

Works used one on an vintage conversion build. but yeah chainline could be messed up, you could test which side works best

  5. I used a 600 crankset on my brother cycles all-day for years with no issues. You have to adjust your BB width and where you are fixing the chainring for your chain line

Also if using the chainring (if it’s not biopace), it’s advised to go for a 3/32 chain not the usual 1/8 (though would need a 3/32 sprocket as well)
