I recently got a Specialissima comp from an auction. It’s in pristine condition, as it was never ridden and was only used as a display model. I’m very happy with how it feels and performs.

When I got it home, I set the saddle height with the help of a friend since I didn’t have a torque wrench. We used carbon assembly paste (to improve friction) on the seat post and torqued the seat post wedge to the specified 6 Nm.

Since then, the saddle has been slipping on every ride, and I’ve had to readjust it each time. I’ve tried cleaning the seat post, clamp, and frame, then reapplying the paste, but that didn’t fix the issue.

I have a big cyclo event tomorrow and would really like to avoid worrying about this. Unfortunately, all bike shops in the area are fully booked with the new season starting.

Has anyone experienced this or have any advice?

Which brand of paste did you use? I always find finish line superiority gritty.
